Speaker Talk: Love, Motivate, Teach: Unlocking School Refusal

An estimated 2-7% of families nationwide are struggling with school refusal. Michael and Sara from Fusion Academy will discuss School Refusal and its associated challenges that impact students and families along with strategies to overcome it. The talk will start by defining school refusal and discussing the scope of the issue. Michael and Sara will then speak to the impact this has on families and the fact that families going through this are not alone. Michael and Sara believe it takes a village to raise a child so they will discuss how changing the village’s approach and utilizing a Love Motive Teach framework can generate student buy in. They will close with some helpful resources and host a Q&A.
